Mr. White has been teaching at Jackson Heights since 2008. He primarily teaches Spanish classes but also teaches 7th grade reading. Mr. White boasts a variety of work and travel experiences. He has been a paramedic, a motorcycle mechanic, a private percussion instructor, and even a cruise ship drummer. He has spent time in over 20 countries around the world, including Norway, Hungary, Mexico, Nicaragua, Oman, Morocco, and many others. One of his favorite quotes is "Life is like a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."
Mr. White attended Hesston College, Hutchinson Community College, Kansas State University, Penn Valley Community College, Emporia State University, and Washburn University. He holds bachelor's degrees in Arts and Education with majors in Spanish, Music, and Elementary Education, and he has an endorsement to teach English-as-a-Second-Language. His prior teaching experience includes: 2nd Grade Teacher (Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico); 6th Grade Teacher (Topeka, Kansas); SCKESC Adult and Online Instructor (Holton and Clearwater, Kansas); and Community ESL Instructor (Holton, Kansas).
In his free time, Mr. White enjoys performing with several regional bands, attending Jackson Heights games and activities, and spending as much time as possible traveling and being outdoors with his wife, Jessica, and their two sons, Charlie and Lucas.
